Description:
SIS Virtual Class Visits offer students an opportunity to attend a simulated SIS graduate class featuring a substantive course lecture and follow-up discussion.
About this session: Misinformation has become an increasingly contentious political issue. In particular, there are widespread concerns that misinformation—spread via social media platforms—have undermined elections in the United States, as well as around the globe. Join SIS professor Samantha Bradshaw for this lecture that will examine and critique the key drivers of misinformation from three disciplinary perspectives. Students will gain a nuanced understanding of what misinformation is, how it spreads via digital platforms, and why individuals may (or may not) be susceptible to it.
