Description:
Join us as a 'student for the day' to participate in an engaging faculty-led discussion focused on the importance of entertainment culture and the role it plays in social progress & public engagement. Why and how is entertainment culture so meaningful for social progress and engagement on vexing social issues (such as racial justice, climate change, and more)? And how can comedy play a role in public engagement with social challenges? Join Professor Caty Borum as she answers these questions and talks about her forthcoming book, The Revolution Will Be Hilarious: Comedy for Social Change and Civic Power (NYU Press, 2023).
An SOC admissions representative will also be on hand to discuss your options for pursuing a graduate degree in the field of Public Communication at American University.
If you require special accommodation, please email us at gradcomm@american.edu and let us know what accommodation you require.
