Tuesday, October 22, 2019
5:30 PM - 8:00 PM Eastern Standard Time
Location: Main Campus, Kogod School of Business Building

Description:
A campus visit is likely the best way to learn more about our program. You will have the opportunity to see the university campus and the Kogod School of Business facilities, as well as observe our faculty and students in a live classroom environment. A current student ambassador will bring you to class with them and afterwards treat you to coffee to share their experience as a Kogod student and answer any questions you have. This course is part of a two course sequence focused on financial accounting rules for corporations. It includes application and use of financial accounting in a decision-making framework and emphasizes corporate financial reporting strategies, preparation of financial statements, and interpretation of financial statements by external users. The course examines issues related to the environment and theoretical structure of accounting, the accounting cycle, financial statements and disclosures, income determination, valuation and accounting for current and non-current assets, and investments. Within these content areas, the course also explores the differences between financial statements prepared in accordance with U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), and those prepared in accordance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
Registration period closes Monday, October 21, 2019
